SKIN AND BONES

Final Combined 01.jpg

"Skin and Bones" articulates interior and exterior space through the exploration and design of a system of enclosure, a thick skin. The essential characteristics and conditions of the whole reside in a representative cut, a slice, of the building at its perimeter. The thick, articulated architectural enclosure is the mediator between inside and outside. Designed components along with customized connectors snap together and aggregate to form the bones, which serve as the structure that interacts with and dictates the apertures in the skin, or facade. The combined system explores its interaction with bend, a hole, an edge, a mass, a floor, and a body.
